SL-POLY-FL–polymer drilling mud filtrate reducing agent and stabilizer of clay shale, produced of partially hydrolyzed polyacrilamid with high degree of anion charge and low molecular weight.

Application Method

1. SL-POLY-FL is designed for effective reduction of bentonite-based drilling mud filtration, incapsulation of drill cuttings,

enforcement of wellbore walls, control of rheological properties.

2. SL-POLY-FL is applied in drilling fluids in concentrations 0,03-1 kg/m3. The agent shall be dissolved in advance in fresh service water in concentration 2-4 kg/m3. The agent should be injected via ejector funnel. The solution should be thoroughly stirred and added to the drilling fluid within 1-2 cycles.

3. SL-POLY-FL should be added to the drilling fluid after addition of bentonite. SL-POLY-FL, in the drilling fluid prevents bentonite hydration by encapsulation effect. 

Characteristic Features

1. SL-POLY-FL in concentration 0.5 kg/m3 in the bentonite-based drilling fluid allows to decrease filtration several times as compared with the initial bentonite slurry.

2. SL-POLY-FL due to encapsulation of drill cuts improves cutting transport and reduces packing at the equipment.

3. SL-POLY-FL reduces thickness of filter cake and increases its stability, thus reduces contact area between drill pipe and wellbore wall and reduces risk of tools sticking.

4. SL-POLY-FL does not increase viscosity of the original drilling fluid.
