Charateristics

Stable. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.l-Lysine: 
Needles from water, hexagonal plates from dil alc. 
Darkens at 210°; decomp 224.5°. Very freely sol in water; 
very sl ig tly sol in alc; practically insol in ether.

post-translational modifications.
