UHMWPE is a subset of the thermoplastic polyethylene.Also known as HMPE or HPPE, it has extremely long chains,with a molecular mass usually between 2 and 6 million u. The longer chain serves to transfer load more effectively to the polymer backbone by strengthening intermolecular interactions. This results in a very tough material. with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made.

UHMW-PE is odorless, tasteless,and nontoxic. It is highly resistant t corrosive chemicals except oxidizing acids,has extremely low moisture absorption and a very lw coefficient of friction;is self-lubricating;and is highly resistant to abrasion, in some forms being 15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel.

HDPE has several properties that make it ideal as a packaging and manufacturing product. It’s stronger than standard polyethylene, acts as an effective barrier against moisture and remains solid at room temperature. It resists insects, rot and other chemicals. It is easily recyclable and can be used again and again. Recycled HDPE creates no harmful emissions during its production or during its use by the consumer.  Also, HDPE leaks no toxic chemicals into the soil or water.
