The bottom of slag steel silo can be mainly dived into two types: Conical hopper bottom and flat hopper bottom. The conical hopper bottom silo capacity always be small silo, the capacity of silo is not more than 2000 tons. But the silo will be built with some accessory equipment, such as vibrator on silo hopper, aeration box on silo hopper, to ensure the slag powder discharge smoothly. The flat bottom silo always be invert cone inside silo bottom, the function is to reduce the pressure when discharge slag powder from the center of silo top. For this type, the invert cone can avoid the slag powder flow down to the aeration box directly. The aeration box is to make the slag powder discharge smoothly (Kindly notice: some big slag silos will be built more than one invert cone inside silo bottom).

Slag Storage Silo Construction

1. Choose flat ground as slag steel silo’s construction platform, including structures, steel frame, steel column and connection machine.
2. Set up the forming machine, bending machine and the frame and the supporting frame in horizontal
3. Put the coil into the forming machine
4. With the bending machine bending bite into the spiral rib 5 times the thickness of the silo body.
5. When the silo height volume to 2m, use automatic cutting machine cut silo body top in horizontal.
6. Production and installation of silo roof.
7. Use bending and forming machine make silo to the silo height
8. According to the requirements of the drawings of reinforcing ribs, weld it in the inner wall of silo. (This step is constructing at the same time of step 8)
9. Use the cutting machine cut the silo body bottom plate in horizontal.
10. Reverse rotation silo to silo foundation plate, fall to the embedded steel part.
11. Connect the reinforcing rib and the embedded part, rooting.
