What is Polyurea?

Polyurea is a type of elastomer that is derived from the reaction product of an isocyanate component and a synthetic resin blend component through step-growth polymerization. The isocyanate can be aromatic or aliphatic in nature. It can be monomer, polymer, or any variant reaction of isocyanates, quasi-prepolymer or a prepolymer. The prepolymer, or quasi-prepolymer, can be made of an amine-terminated polymer resin, or a hydroxyl-terminated polymer resin.

• Thickness build up in multiple layers through single coat application
• High tensile strengh(in the order of 10-30 Mpa, generally 20+Mpa)
• Large elongation at break (in the order of a few hundred to 1000%,generally~400%-500%)
• High tear strength( in the order of 50 to more than 100Mpa)
• High abrasive resistance
• High impact resistance
• Excellent resistance to chemical attack
• Breathable
• Can be applied at low temperature(as low as 5℃)(Mixing temperature should be adjusted to a higher level for low temperature application)
• High thermal stability
