Category 6a or Augmented Category 6 is an enhanced performance standard for ethernet twisted pair cable systems. Category 6a is design to perform at frequencies up to a minimum 500 MHz twice that of standard Category 6. Our cable is tested up to 650 MHz and is perfect for use with 10/100/1000Base-T and 10GBase-T high speed Ethernet network installations. This high performance cable meets or exceeds the ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B.2-10 specifications for Cat 6a cable.

PERFORMANCE RATED CAT 6A CABLE

To achieve the network performance of 10GBASE-T, 6a cable must be properly installed and terminated to meet specifications. Only Cat 6a designated connectors and distribution panels may be used. The Cat 6a cable's maximum length is 100 meters (328 ft) in a favorable alien crosstalk environment. The cable must not be kinked or bent too tightly; the bend radius should be at least four times the outer diameter of the cable. The wire pairs must not be untwisted and the outer jacket must not be stripped back more than 1/2 inch (1.27 cm).
