Process of making lanterns:

The process of making lantens is divided into two main stages: making the bamboo frame and wrapping the silk fabric.

1. Bamboo must first be mash 10 days with saline to avoid termites, then dried, split and twisted into then bamboo lath depending on the size of each lanterns. Bamboo lath is attached to 2 wooden loops at both ends and then connected by parachutes. In the end, the worker will use the correct hand to have a symmetrical light frame.
2. The fabric is usually covered with cloths or silk fabrics in a variety of colors, so that the length of the stretch is not torn. First, the fabric is cut into pieces according to the size o the lanterns, then glued to the frame. When stretching tha fabric requires the technician to be extremely clever to stress the angle at the curve. Finishing the fabric, the worker will use the scissors to trim and then use the handle attatched to the frame. The lanterns holder is made of artificial silk thread attached to a wooden ball. It takes 4 days from the bamboo lath to finish the two lanterns plus 3 painting, decoration.
