Laser pointer, also known as laser pen and astropen, is a pen transmitter which is designed to be portable, hand-holding, laser module (light-emitting diode). The usual laser indicators are red (lambda = 650 ~ 660nm, 635nm), green light (lambda = 515-520nm, 532nm), blue light (lambda = 445 ~ 450nm), and blue violet (lambda = 405nm).

In reporting, teaching, guide's personnel usually use it to barrier in a light or a light point to objects, but it in a particular place, such as the museum of art (some paintings are afraid of the light) are not suitable for use, the zoo, etc.

Improper use of a laser pointer can cause severe damage to the retina, even blindness, and children should not use it.
