Metallurgical coke is several coking coal according to certain proportion after high temperature carbonization hitches in coke oven coking solid carbonaceous materials generated, it has metallic luster, silver-grey commonly, hard and porous, surface crack. The production of metallurgical coke is mainly made of coking coal, suitable for the coal, coal and thin coal. First, the selected coking coal will be crushed, then the coal distribution will be carried out according to a certain proportion. After mixing, the coal tower will be sent to the coal tower, and the coal will be loaded into coke oven from the top of the furnace. The coal of raw material is in the carbonization chamber in high temperature dry distillation. It takes about 15h from coal to coke. When coke cake center temperature of 950 ~ 1050  C, can push coke coke, sent to the cooling tower water quenching or dry coke quenching. After cooling, the metallurgical coke is graded and checked into the warehouse. In 2004, China's metallurgical output reached 195 million t. Metallurgical coke is mainly used in blast furnace ironmaking, fuel and reducing agent. In the production of carbon materials, metallurgical coke is the main raw material for the production of various kinds of carbon blocks and electrode paste. Meanwhile, metallurgical coke is used as the filling material for baking, graphitized resistance materials and insulation materials.
