Asphperical lenses have different radius of curvature from surface center to edge, so aspherical lenses can eliminate spherical aberrations as well as the error which other spherical lenses can not eliminate. At the same time, an aspherical lens has a simple construction, an aspherical lens can replace multiple lenses system, thereby reduce weight, size, and cost.
