SLAM SHUT VALVE

Overpressure shutoff valves, or slam shut valves are safety equipment that is installed upstream of pipelines and instruments to ensure that a sudden increase in inlet pressure will not damage equipment should that pressure exceed the pressure rating of said eqiupment. This ensures that downstream safety is guaranteed – most importantly for consumers and operators.

The inlet pressure is mechanically monitored and compared to set points via a diaphragm and spring mechanism. Should the pressure exceed the pre-determined load, a torsion spring will slam the valve shut, indicated by a visible and/or audible sign.

iSystems Industries’ slam shut valves come in two types, differentiated only by the release or trip-mechanism, and in multiple pressure classes (PN or ANSI). The body is designed in ANSI 600. Their construction is simple but effective and guarantees safe operation, high sensibility, quick response, but little maintenance.

Our valves are designed for non-aggressive gases, such as natural gas, propane, butane, air and nitrogen and can operate in a range of -15 to +60 celsius.
