Principle

The DY-HW9000 Hydrocarbon/Total Volatile Organic Analyzer uses a flame ionization detector (FID) to measure the concentration of hydrocarbons in the air. The ionization mechanism of organic compounds in flames is achieved by the following processes:
The organic compound is cleaved in a flame to form a CH 1 - CH 2 - 1CH 3 - radical and oxygen-contacted ionization reaction as follows: CH•+0->CHO + +e-
