Its principle is that NO and NO2 reduced to N2 under reducing agent NH3 and 290-400 Celsius. Almost no NH3 oxidation reaction occur. The results showed that diesel engine using SCR technology than using EGR plus particulate trap technology can save about 5% fuel consumption. Select SCR technology can achieve Euro IV~Euro V standard and with high reliability, good stability, low fuel consumption , high power density, long oil change intervals ,low cooling requirements and so on.
When upgrade to Euro V standards , SCR technology is easier applied in the market than EGR technology . In practical application, we often use completed SCR catalytic converter muffler which not only to reduce NOx, but also reduce the noise from diesel engine.

In the SCR process, the reducing agent reacts with NOx to convert the pollutants into nitrogen(N2), water (H2O) and tiny amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) , which is then expelled through the vehicle tailpipe. Applications include medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks, all on road and non-road vehicle and various construction machinery vehicles.
