Acetabular reamers are used in total hip arthroplasty (hip replacement) procedures. They are employed during the socket preparation phase to remove the damaged or arthritic bone tissue from the acetabulum, creating a cavity of appropriate size and shape for the prosthetic implant.

The acetabular reamer, or acetabulum grater head, with TiN(TITANIUM NITRIDE) coating is more durable in reaming.
