How much do you know the slurry pumps? What are the impeller types of a centrifugal slurry pump?

The impeller of Centrifugal Slurry pump is generally composed of four parts: blade, front cover plate, rear cover plate and hub. According to the dry version, it can be divided into the closed impeller.  Kinds of structures: semi-open impeller and open impeller.

1. Closed impeller means that the runner is relatively closed, forming a closed runner between the front cover plate, the rear cover plate, and the blade. It is suitable for conveying and cultivating high and clean liquid. The closed impeller has two structures: single-suction impeller and double suction impeller.

2. Semi-open impeller means that the impeller flow channel is semi-closed, and there is no front cover plate compared with closed impeller, which is suitable for conveying liquid containing solid particles or impurities

3. Impeller without front and the rear cover plate are called open impeller. It is suitable for the transportation of pulpy or fibrous media.

The impeller of the centrifugal pump transfers the energy of the prime mover to the liquid in the pump through the centrifugal force, which increases the speed and pressure of the liquid impels the liquid in the pump to be discharged, and the liquid in the inlet pipeline is sucked in. The commonly used materials of the impeller are: cast iron, cast steel, cast copper, stainless steel, and aluminum.
