Rice husks (also known as rice husks) is the hard shell that covers the outside of the rice grain.
In addition to protecting the grain during the growing season, the husk can also be used as a building material, fertilizer, building insulation or fuel. Rice husk is used to line the barn very effectively for livestock farmers, with a high water absorption of 7-14 liters / kg of coco peat, always keeping the barn clean and dry.
Current status of rice husks in Vietnam
Rice husks are abundant in the Mekong River Delta and the Red River Delta, the two largest rice growing regions in the country. They are often not used up, so they have to be burned or dumped in rivers and streams for destruction. According to the survey, the amount of rice husks discharged in the Mekong Delta is more than 3 million tons/year, but only about 10% of that is used.
Application of rice husk to produce biogas (rice husk gasification)
In recent years, renewable energy technology in general, especially biomass energy technology (Biomass: firewood, rice husk, corn cob, peanut shell, sawdust, shavings...) has been developing very strongly
