"Bulwark cable hole". A closed hole fairlead arranged on the bulwark to limit the leading out position of the cable. It is a circular or oval ring casting.
"Fairlead pliers", "fairlead hook". A mooring device that guides a cable through and changes direction or limits its exit position to protect the cable from chafing. It is a metal crab claw, and some attach rollers or rollers between the two claws. Set at the deck side or wharf side of the ship.
