Source: The dried tuberous root of Ophiopogon japonicus Ker-Gawl. It is harvested in summer, washed, repeatedly exposed to the sun, stacked, until 70% to 80% dry, remove the fibrous root and dried. 

Uses: Medicine and health products, beverage and food additives, etc.

Taste and Attribution: slightly cold; sweet, slightly bitter; to the heart, lung, stomach meridian

Functions and Indications: Nourishing Yin and generating fluid, moistening the lung and clearing the heart. Used for dry cough of lung. Deficient consumption cough, thirsty, sleeplessness, internal heat and thirst, constipation and dryness of the intestines; white throat.

Usage and dosage: For internal use: decoction, 6-12g; boiled in paste; or in pills or powder. For external use: Apply with powder, decoction, or fresh pounded juice.

Contraindications: Contraindicated for people with cold diarrhea, dampness, wind-cold or cold phlegm cough and asthma.
