Mercaptobenzothiazole is a rubber chemical, one of the mainly used acidic accelerators with a slightly foul odor and bitter taste, but nonpoisionous. It is mainly used in the manufacture of tires, tubes, footwear, rubber belts and hoses etc.

Appearance: beige to light yellow power/granule 

Solubility: Soluble in ethyl acetone, acetone, dilute solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, ethyl alcohol. Not easily soluble in benzene. Insoluble in water and gasoline. 

Application:  

1. Used for NR, IR, SBR, NBR, HR and EPDM.  

1. Used as a combination of DM,TMTD and many others basic accelerators for higher activity.  

1. Used in metal industry, homemakers, health services, laborites, building industries and shoemakers. Such as, tires, medical devices, tubes, shoes, gloves, rubber in undergarments and clothing, swimwear, fungicide, condoms and diaphragms.  

1. Used as a corrosion inhibitor in soluble cutting oils and antifreeze mixtures; in greases, adhesives, photographic-film emulsions; detergents; veterinary products, such as tick and flea powders and sprays. 

Storage: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. The recommended max storage life is 1 years when stored under normal conditions
