BBO (BaB2O4) pockels cells, also referred to as barium borate pockels cells. They are a pockels cells device with exceptional overall efficiency. They feature high damages limit, reduced insertion loss, high termination proportion, very little piezoelectric ringing and affordable cost.

They show substantial advantages in laser power handling capacity, and also temperature stability, and are greatly untouched by piezoelectric buzzing.
