[Function of couplant] The main function of couplant is to remove the air between the probe and the workpiece surface, so that the ultrasonic wave can be effectively transmitted to the workpiece, and ensure that there is sufficient sound intensity transmittance on the detection surface to achieve the purpose of detection. In addition, the coupling agent with certain fluidity can also reduce the friction, which plays a role in lubricating the probe moving on the workpiece when using the direct contact method.
