Based on the correlation between penetration degree and dry density of soil, the relationship between penetration degree and water content of soil, and the relationship between water content and density of soil in geotechnical tests, the general type penetration instrument has established a regression equation through a large number of parallel comparison tests of penetration degree and ring knife method to determine the correlation data table between penetration resistance and dry density of excavated soil. By measuring the penetration resistance and checking the table, the dry density can be obtained quickly, and then the compaction coefficient can be calculated quickly.
