DESCRIPTION 

Fiberglass Mesh is a ready-to-use, thin, strong yet flexible alkali resistant mesh for embedment with waterproofing and crack-isolation membranes,on residential and commercial floors, walls and ceilings.Fiberglass Mesh reinforces and improves the performance of waterproofing membranes when applied over cracks, coves and corners and around drains on residential and commercial applications. Fiberglass Mesh can be cut to size with scissors or a razor knife, and has excellent compatibility with all cement- or epoxy-based mortars.

WHERE TO USE 

 

1) wall reinforcing material (such as fiberglass wall mesh, GRC wall panel, EPS internal wall insulation board, gypsum board, etc.

2) enhance cement products (such as Roman Columns, flue, etc.).

3) granite, Mosaic net, marble back net.

4) waterproof rolling material cloth and asphalt roofing waterproof.

SURFACE PREPARATION

 

• All suitable substrates must be smooth, structurally sound, stable, dry,clean and free of any substance or condition that may reduce or prevent proper adhesion.

• Do not use chemical means (acid etching or stripping) to prepare approved substrates. Use mechanical methods only

• To remove any bond-inhibiting materials, concrete substrates should be mechanically cleaned and prepared by diamond-cup grinding or other engineer-approved methods to obtain the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) concrete surface profile (CSP) of #2. When concrete requires more mechanical preparation, the profile will typically increase.In such cases, the surface can be made smooth by applying coats of a polymer-modified tile-setting mortar.

 

EXPANSION AND CONTROL JOINTS

 

1.Do not cover any substrate expansion joint or control joints with mortar or tiles. Provide for expansion and control joints where specified per DetailEJ-171 of the most current TCNA handbook for ceramic tile installation,or Detail 301MJ of the TTMAC Tile Installation Manual.

2. If waterproofing integrity is required in expansion and control joints, provide per the above drawing. Flashband cove roll can be bonded to both sides of the joint and filled with an appropriate joint sealant or an expansion molding system.

3. Protect tile work with metal strips (edge metal) along both edges of structural building expansion joints.

4. When necessary, cut tiles along both edges of the expansion joints. Do not allow tile and mortar to overlap the joints.

5. Install the specified compressible bead and sealant into all expansion and control joints.
