Properties: calcium stearate as a uniform fine white powder. Melting point 175 , density 1.035g/cm3. Soluble in toluene, ethanol, benzene and other organic solvents, insoluble in water. Slowly heated to 400 , decomposition, flammable and met a strong acid decomposed into stearic acid and corresponding calcium salts. Are absorbent, non-toxic.
Application: PVC heat stabilizer and a variety of plastics processing, lubricants, release agents and so on. In the rigid products, one of the basicity of lead salt, lead soap can increase with the speed of gelation. Is also used in food packaging, medical devices and other non-toxic, soft demand film and apparatus. Can be made of polyethylene, polypropylene halogen absorbent to remove the residual catalyst on the stability of color and adverse effects. As plasticizers in rubber processing can make the whole into a natural rubber and rubber to soften, while almost no effect on curing.
