The structure of this energy meter is different from the traditional unity energy meter. It separates the display part from measurement part, and divides into measurement unit and display unit. They achieve the exchange of data through remote communication interface. Measurement unit is in charge of measuring energy meter, handling and preserving data, and control power-using, and display unit is in charge of displaying the data of measurement unit, and it also the interface of exchange between measurement unit and external data.

The application of energy meter two bodies in prepayment energy meter system greatly enhances the resist offensive function of prepayment energy meter. Using prepayment energy meter two bodies, measurement unit can install in a wore pole or measurement box where user is hard to contact, and this can increase the difficulty of attacking energy meter by use, as a result, it can reduce user to fiddle wiring of energy meter or attack the weak part of energy meter in order to strengthen the security of measurement unit.
