Mechanism of Action:
Hydrocolloid dressing is based on the theory of moist wound healing, CMC microparticles contact with exudate to form a gel that binds the exudate and detritus. Ensure that the wound area is kept moist and will promote further epithelialisation, offering protection against adverse influences and ensuring that the wound remains undisturbed.

Characteristics:

1. Hydrocolloid dressing is thin and transparent, close to skin color, allows regular inspection directly.

2. The hydrocolloid swells when it absorbs exudate and forms a gel, it reduces pain on removal and leaves no residue on the patients skin and avoid s secondary hurt.

3. Edge is thicker than center which provides good absorption of exudates, also adhesive capacity is well increased.

4. Excellent viscosity, which make it safe and easy to apply, it is suit for different body part.

5. Stimulate granulation and epithelialisation. Cost saving, reduce the medical labor intensity.

S ested Applications:

» I-II degree decubitus. 

» Superficial and small burn wound. 

» All kinds of superficial wound and face-lifting wound.       

» For periods of granulation and epithelialisation of chronic wound.

» For prevention and treatment of phlebitis.

Change a Dressing:

» When the dressing becomes white and expanded, this indicates that dressing should be changed.

» Depending on clinical situation, generally dressing should be changed after 2 to 5 days.
