DEEP is a new and efficient organophosphorus flame retardant. It is widely used in all kinds of rigid polyurethane foamed plastics, including rigid foam formulas of all foaming systerms. Its flame retardance efficiency is 1.5-2 times that of TCPP . Moreover, DEEP has low viscosity and no halogen. Due to its excellent chemical stability, it is very stable in polyether polyol and isocyanate bi-component systems. The application amount of DEEP can be as high as 20-25 portions, and made into rigid foams that meet DIN4102B3 or B2 flame retardance standard. When used with other flame retardants, it reaches the level of BS476 Part 7 and NFP92-501 flame retardants. It is unsuitable to be used in isocyanate components, for example, prepolymers and mono-component foamed plastics.
