The Humiria Floribunda belongs to South American tropical rain forest wood. The color and natural character of the wood are suitable to be the material of outdoor furniture very much. So it is widely used in European and American markets which supply the furniture and building materials.

Wood characteristics:

1) The heart and the sapwood are significant differences: heartwood is brown with rose to purplish, while the sapwood is only a little light brown.

2) The structure of the wood is smooth at the medium, with natural luster, staggered but straight timber grain, no obvious smell and taste.

3) When the wood moisture content riches 12%, the air-dry density of wood is 0.95 g/cm3.

4) The shrinkage rate of the wood: tangent is 9.5%, radial is 5.7%.

5) Durability of the timber: extremely resistant to the rust and termites/insects invasion.

6) Uses of the timber: Heavy structure material, suitable to use in furniture, flooring, bridges and plywood areas.
