Fire Doors: Technical Specifications

Liberfusta fire doors are designed to ensure the following features: good mechanical fire resistance, stability, sealing, non-emission of inflammable gases and good thermal insulation, as well as good smoke-proofing.

Description:

- Leaf made up of a particle board core, a fibre frame with intumescent components and 2.5mm thick high-pressure laminate on both sides in the colours in the CUBLIC series (in stock).

To achieve:

FIRE RESISTANCE

Fire resistance is defined as “the ability of a construction element, component, device or structure to maintain its stability, sealing, non-emission of inflammable gases and thermal insulation for a specific time.” The fire resistance of a door is its ability to contain a fire for a given length of time by stopping the fire propagating through it.

MECHANICAL FIRE RESISTANCE:

The ability of the fire door to maintain its structural integrity in the event of a fire.

STABILITY (INTEGRITY):

This is the ability of the door to keep its physical cohesion, acting as a barrier to flames and hot gases which might cause combustible materials located some distance away on the other side of the door to ignite.

SEALING:

This is the ability of the door to act as a barrier to flames and hot gases which might cause combustible materials located against or very close to the other side of the door to ignite.

NON-EMISSION OF INFLAMMABLE GASES:

Some doors contain materials which break down when subjected to the effects of fire. Such emissions are detected by holding a small flame close to the side of the door not exposed to fire.

THERMAL INSULATION:

This is the ability of the door to act as a barrier to heat conducted through it, so that the temperature of the side of the door not exposed to the fire does not rise high enough to cause combustible materials placed against it to ignite.

SMOKE-PROOFING:

A system fixed in the frame or edge of the leaf for the purpose of restricting the amount of smoke and hot gases which can pass through it.
