Black pottery is the typical representative of Longshan culture during the China Neolithic age 4500 years ago, belong to date civilization. 2600 BC-2000 BC, in the late Neolithic, with the painted pottery art of yangshao BanPo decline more than 7000 years ago, the Chinese cultural history gave birth to a "black pottery culture". Black pottery also had a more than 4000 years history, is the highest grade in pottery, known as the "the interpretation of earth and fire civilization, and the crystal of force and beauty". The clay for production of black potteries is selected from the Yellow River alluvial plain. Its deep soil is particularly fine and smooth, no sand, and viscous, rich in various mineral elements, so it can produce black uniform texture in the black pottery firing process, suitable for making potteries. The Chinese pottery is divided into: SuiLeng black pottery, RiZhao black pottery, SuiChang black pottery, GuanTao black pottery, LongShan black pottery and QinYuan black pottery. The finest black potteries have the feature "black as paint, bright as a mirror, thin as paper, hard like porcelain".
