calligraphy Petition on Taking the Field
Product Description
Petition on Taking the Field, divided into the First Petition on Taking the Field and the Second Petition on Taking the Field, is the memorial of Zhuge Liang, the Prime Minister of Shu Kingdom in the Three-Kingdom Period to the King Liu Chan before he went to the war against Wei Kingdom (225 and 226 A.D.). The Petition, genuine and sincere, is a reflection of Zhuge Liang’s resolution to win the war. In the memorial, he advised the King to “be close to worthy vassals and far from conniving courtiers”, and his life also proved his goal of “serving his country and task devotedly until death”. Every word showed his loyalty to the country and the deep sentiment toward Liu Bei, father of Liu Chan for his gratitude.
The brocade Petition on Taking the Field is a genuine work of Yue Fei, the famous general of South Song Dynasty with traditional Shu Brocade Technique, well-marked, beautiful, natural and smooth. A perfect combination of calligraphy with Shu Brocade, it is an ideal present.
