Dunlop Springride / Pneuride Air Bellows are designed to benefit customer applications where conventional pneumatic actuators are either not powerful enough, too bulky or environmental conditions would be demanding in maintenance. The primary market segments are in the industrial sector, comprising the paper industry, food industry, textile industry, building industry and more.
An air bellow is a single acting pneumatic actuator made of reinforced elastomer material. Each end is attached to a metallic cover containing mounting holes and air inlet ports. The products exist in single, double and triple convolutions. Dunlop air bellows are extremely effective vibration isolators suitable for many types of equipment. By carefully selecting the air bellow with the correct natural frequency they can significantly reduce the transmitted vibration from most industrial and commercial applications. We have been Designing, Developing and Manufacturing Airsprings since the 1950’s and were amongst the earliest producers. We have manufactured more than 10 million air springs during this time. The primary aim of the air spring is to have a spring element that ensures a constantly low natural frequency of the vehicle body, irrespective of load, thereby providing excellent ride comfort. The air spring solution comprises the combined action of spring elements and automatic levelling. Together they ensure that vehicle bodies are suspended flexibly and kept at a constant ride height whatever the load ensuring maximum comfort and suspension travel at all times. Air springs can be used in automotive applications to provide the actuator used in the change of vehicle ride height. When combined with our ECAS system, it is possible to command the vehicle to adjust its height infinitely within the boundaries of the suspension travel.
