Machining is often the most effective process for producing prototypes, patterns and short-run production parts. Vision Prototype utilizes 3 axis, conventional and high-speed CNC equipment to produce machined parts and patterns in a variety of materials including plastics, aluminums, steels, titanium, etc. We believe that quality control is an integral part of production. All parts are machined to the same high standards, maintaining consistency and predictability for our customers.

Vision Prototype has a suite of CNC machines and skilled part machinists and we are happy to offer expert advice and guidance on CNC Machining or any other prototyping requirement.

Machining may be favored prototype process when:

The part is complex and it is the fastest and least expensive to machine the parts out due to geometry and material.

Desired tolerances and feature definition are not achievable with other processes

Specific material or material properties (mechanical, thermal, chemical, electrical) are not available in an alternative process.

Multiple identical copies are required.

Material

Vision Prototype can manufacture CNC machined prototypes out of the following materials.

Plastic: ABS/POM(Delrin)/PMMA/PC/PTFE(Teflon)/Nylon/Ultem

Metal: Tool steel, Stainless steel, Aluminum, Copper-based materials.

Tolerance

Generally we follow the standard of DIN-2768-fine for metals and DIN-2768-medium for plastics. We are willing to help customers to achieve a tighter tolerance with our best efforts.
