Known as Rou Cong Rong in mandarin, has long been considered one of the best Chinese herbs to strengthen kidneys, tonify Yang, and benefit essence and blood. Cistanche tubulosa is a desert plant species in the genus Cistanche which obtains all its nutrients from the host plants. It’s long been used in the Traditional Chinese Medicine. This plant is grown in Taklamakan desert which is in southwest Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, northwest China. It’s common name is Desert hyacinth and the botanical name is CistancheTubulosa and this plant belongs to Orobanchaceae family.
Cistanche tubulosa extract is mainly used as food and cosmetic ingredients with tonics, memory improving, anti-aging, anti-fatigue, anti-sex dysfunction, immune boosting and fat metabolism accelerating properties.
