Cubitainers make your old boats lived: These are currently used as the positive floatation inside Lasers.
They are available to retrofit older Lasers; roughly cubic,and apprx 11" on a side.
Older boats had foam blocks fore and aft wrapped in plastic - the foam could become saturated with water over time. You'll need three 10L Cubitainers for the forward half of the boat, and three 20L Cubitainers for the aft - use a shop vac to inflate, once you've got it inside the boat, and then quickly screw on the cap.
