Protease Zymtan PBS-100 is a protelytic enzyme preparation especially suitable for applications in leather processing as the enzyme component of enzymatic soaking or bating preparations for hides and skins, which is produced by fermentation with a selected strain of a micro organism.

Main feature:

• Protease Zymtan PBS-100especially suited for soaking or bating due fact its wide pH range withoutaffecting the hide structure.
• Protease Zymtan PBS-100 provides a clean andpale, uniform hide pelt, increased area, increased tear strength and softness,reduced thickness and a significant area increase; all these features areoriginated from the optimal wide pH and its proteolitic nature.

Usable ranges:
Active at beamhouse processing temperatures and at temperature up to 50-65°C. Enzyme will be inactivated quickly above 65°C.

Usage rate:
The recommended dose rate is usually 0.05-0.15‰ based on the weight of wet leather but it could be optimized in the different material or production process (within a different temperature, pH and processing time).

In any case, due to its high activity, it’s s ested to evaluate Protease Zymtan PBS-100 in small scale before going full steam, in order to avoid any potential damages from enzyme overdosing.
