PRODUCT INFORMATION

 Protease Zymtan PAB-100 is a protelytic enzyme preparation especially suitable for applications in leather processing as a component in formulations for hides and skins acid bating, which is produced by fermentation with a selected strain of a micro organism.

Main feature:

• Works on removing the unwanted protein materials like elastin, albumin, mucoids and globulin without damaging the collagen. It also removes coagulable inter fibrillary protein especially elastin and also removes degraded products of keratin such as epithelial cells, sebaceous glands. It ensures maximum removal of scud and natural dirt.
• Suitable for use in many acidic tanning operations such as in pickling, double-Face, till wet-Blue reconditioning.
• Imparts softness, removes wrinkles, and increases area yield on poorly bated pelt
• Provides better uptake of chrome tanning agents and a more even dyeing.
• Eliminates the amount of aggressive chemicals.

Usable ranges:
Active at beamhouse processing temperatures and at temperature up to 50-65°C. Enzyme will be inactivated quickly above 65°C.

Usage rate:
The recommended dose rate is usually 0.10-0.25‰ based on the weight of wet leather but it could be optimized in the different material or production process (within a different temperature, pH and processing time).

It should be used in small scale before going full stream in order to avoid any potential damages deriving from enzyme overdosing. In acid bating, the “ready-to-use” formulations of may be s ested to be added either 60-90 minutes before the end of the pickling/depickling or 90-120 minutes before the end of tannage (during basification), or even during neutralization.
