ALTA SPECIAL STEEL supply DIN 1.2631 modified / AISI A8 in round bar, plate, square, sheet and block.

A medium carbon, air-hardening tool steel that is characterized by a combination of very good toughness, intermediate wear resistance, and excellent dimensional stability in heat treatment. Has been used for punches that operate in the 55 to 60 Rockwell C hardness range. More toughness than A-2 or D-2, More wear resistance than S-7, very stable in heat treatment.
