Property: light yellow solid or a yellow oily liquid, being easy to oxidize in air and being metamorphic when exposed to light. Soluble in aether and chloroform, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in water. Vitamin A palmitate is found in animal sources. Daily dietary sources of vitamin A palmitate are found in liver, fish, whole milk, eggs, cheese and butter. Vitamin A palmitate is lost when the fat is removed from these sources.
