Overview:

Alpha-GPC is natural choline compound found in the brain. It is also a precursor of parasympathetic acetylcholine. Studies have shown that it is effective in treating Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

Alpha-GPC can rapidly transport choline to the brain through the blood-brain barrier and is the biosynthetic precursor of acetylcholine. In most countries/regions, it is used as non-prescription drug.

 Production: 

Alpha-GPC is produced by chemical or enzymatic deacylation of soy Phosphatidylserine rich in phosphatidylcholine, followed by chromatographic purification.

Alpha-GPC can also be derived from small amounts of highly purified soy lecithin and purified sunflower lecithin.
