Pipe based wire wrapped screen pipe is the most popular sand control device with long history due to its keystone structure slot and accurate sand control performance. It is widely applied in oil, gas, water well gravel pack sand control operations.

The wire wrapped screen includes three parts, that are basepipe with holes or slots, wire shroud (including wires and ribs) and welding rings. Wire shroud is welded to perforated or slotted basepipe through welding rings, which integrates the screen into one whole assembly.
