IS-1800 Mirror Effect Ink for Opaque Substrates
JM Coatings + inks
IS-1800 Mirror Effect Ink for Opaque Substrates is a recent launched solvent-based screen ink which applicable to most of the transparent and opaque substrates, plastics like PET, PC, PVC, acrylic, glossy paper and glass surfaces. This product allows visualizing the Mirror Effect on opaque substrates like we did by traditional foil stampings. Customers can tailor-made own graphics by screen-printing, gravure printing or spray coatings.
With the fine metallic particles in 10μm, treated distinctively and the synthetic resin resulting in an innovative product, the stylish mirror effect could be simply done by printing. The series typically reaches its boiling point at 76℃ relative to the degree of dissolution.
Applications:
Mesh 350 polyester mesh (140T)
Stencil Anydirect emulsion and capillary film which are solvent resistant.
Squeegee Sharp edge, 65゚– 85゚blade
Dilution IS series is formulated to print from the container with excellent properties,
add SS-783 Thinner while necessary to assure the excellent mirror effect.
Should be well mixed before printing and fastened during storage.
Curing PC, PET:by solvent evaporation and forced dry at 120 – 130℃ in 20 – 30 minutes, 40 minutes at humidity.
PVC, PMMA:by solvent evaporation. Surface dry at room temperature then forced dry at 30 – 40℃ in 20 – 30 minutes.
Glass:by solvent evaporation. Leave idle in 2 – 3 minutes and forced dry at cool temperature in 15 minutes, then 130℃ in another 20 minutes for excellent adhesive performance.
Glossy Paper:by solvent evaporation. Check heat resistance data of specific papers before drying at high temperature.
Wash-up By specific Screen Wash SS-718.
Storage Dry indoor below 75% humidity in 90 days from the date of manufacture.

Printing Advices:
1. Always mix up before each application. The metallic pigment, resin, promoter and additives would delaminate in storage since the weight difference.
2. Mesh in 350 (140T) is recommended since the low viscosity of IS series. Blade with proper hardness should be considered to minimize the printing stress.
3. Avoid violent airflow which leads screen blocking.
4. Apply slightly lower tension to the stencil.
5. To achieve the best mirror effect, always avoid humidity and proceed curing immediately at low temperature after the printing procedure.
