PFO(Patent Foramen Ovale) is a hidden communication between left atrium and right atrium.

Description:

When the pressure in the right atrium becomes intermittently higher than in the left autrium (as can occur,for instance,when coughing),for those moments the foramen ovale is open,and blood and embolus can flow from the right to the left atrium.That may cause a stroke to the patient.
