Testing is introduced
The Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) announced on August 25, 2008 that the National Standards Board of Korea will implement a new national unified logo, the "KC" logo, from July 2009 to December 2010. "KC" logo, means "Korea Certification", KC Certification is the Korean electronic and electrical products safety Certification system, It is a mandatory SAFETY certification system implemented by Korea Institute of Technology and Standards (KATS) on January 1, 2009 in accordance with the "ELECTRIC APPLIANCES SAFETY CONTROL ACT".
In order to avoid repeated certification, from July 1, 2012, EMC and Safety separation management, electronic and electrical products applying for Korean certification, according to their Safety (Safety) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements, must obtain KC certificate and KCC certificate (new MSIP) respectively. KC has two Certification agencies: Korea Electrical Testing Institute (KTC) and Korea Electrical Testing Institute (KTL). These two are not only the certification agencies of KC, but also the qualification testing laboratories.
Testing standard
In terms of safety standards, all products entering the Korean market need to comply with the Korean safety standard K standard (similar to the IEC standard), the use of IEC standards must meet the requirements of Korea, national differences can be found from the ANNOUNCEMENT of the IECEE CB system.
In EMC, the Korean EMI standard is similar to CISPR standard and EMS standard is similar to EN standard.
other
Classification of certification System
Korea KC certification is divided into "KC Safety", "KC EMC and RF" and "MEPS"
A Safety, KC
In order to prevent consumer safety accidents such as electric shock and fire, the government introduced a safety management system for electrical appliances, allowing only approved products to be manufactured and sold. The latest "Electrical Appliances Safety Management Law" requires that KC Safety certification is divided into three categories according to the different hazard grades of products:
1) Mandatory Safety Certification
2) Self-regulatory Safety Confirmation
3) Supplier self-confirmation (SDoC)
Certificate validity period:
1) Mandatory safety certification - none, annual audit remains valid
2) Self-regulatory safety confirmation -- 5 years
3) Supplier self-confirmation -- without certificate, the confirmation letter will be valid forever
Inspection requirements: mandatory safety certification requires the first audit and annual audit
Certification requirements: The mandatory safety certification must be factory certified, the other two types of certification can be factory/manufacturer/importer certified.
Two, electromagnetic compatibility &RF RF certification (KC EMC and RF)
Ensure that the equipment can work normally in a certain electromagnetic environment, that is, the equipment should have a certain electromagnetic interference immunity (EMS); Second, the electromagnetic disturbance generated by the device itself should not have too much influence on other electronic products, namely electromagnetic disturbance (EMI).
The KC EMC and KC RF certifications cover electromagnetic compatibility testing, radio frequency and telecommunications testing. According to the requirements of the latest "radio wave law", the certification system can be divided into three categories according to the different radio environment grade of product harm:
1) Certification of Conformity
2) Registration of Compatibility
3) Interim of Conformity
Iii. Energy Efficiency Grade (MEPS)
Energy efficiency grade label is an information label indicating product performance indicators such as energy efficiency. The purpose is to provide necessary information for users and consumers to make purchase decisions and guide and help consumers to choose energy-efficient products.
The application materials
1. Relevant application form
2. Product label
3. Product Manual (Korean version)
4. Parts list
5. List of derived models
6. Circuit diagram and Layout
7. Parts certificate
8, transformer, inductor and other specifications
9. CB Certificate and report
Korea KC certification and KCC certification difference
KCC is a mandatory certification for IT, engineering, telecom and RF products in the Korean market, including electromagnetic compatibility testing, telecom testing and RADIO frequency testing. The Korea Communications Commission authorizes Korea Radio Research Institute (RRA) as the KCC certification agency. Starting from January 1, 2011, the original Korean KCC logo will be converted to KC. Therefore, the KCC certification and KC certification will use the same logo, the difference is that the KCC certification logo will carry the KCC ID number below.
