When it’s cold, it has small ductility. It can be easily bended even at pure single crystal state.

Ruthenium metal can be melted by electric arc or electron beam.

It usually can be processed to wire or sheet when it is heated up to 1500℃

 

Ruthenium application

It performs well as a catalytic agent in hydrogenation, isomerization, oxidation and reforming reaction.

Pure Ruthenium metal can be hardly used except for an effective hardening agent in platinum and
