Since 2012, haze has repeatedly appeared in many cities in China. The main culprit is the particulate matter (PM) in the air. Generally speaking, particulates are classified according to their diameters, such as PM10, PM2.5, even PM1, PM0.5, etc., which we can often hear. In particular, the most common inhalable particulate matter, PM2.5, has become a regular guest in the media reports. In 2015, Jing Chai's "under the sky" is more shocking and haze is very harmful to human body. We feel that the haze problem can not be ignored and environmental problems can not be ignored.

Black smoke particulate matter (PM) in diesel exhaust is the cause of air pollution. As a device that can significantly reduce PM, it is only convenient to install on the muffler. Therefore, exhaust particulate collector technology has become a vehicle technology of great concern.

The diesel particulate filter (DPF.Diesel Particulate Filter) is a wall flow type honeycomb ceramic with cordierite or SiC as raw material. The main component of the exhaust gas from diesel engine is carbon particles. The particulate trap is installed in the diesel exhaust system to reduce the particles in the exhaust. The device (PM) has a filtration efficiency of more than 90% for carbon particles, and the soluble organic component SOF (mainly high boiling point HC) can also be partially arrested. The diesel engine is equipped with an oxidation type catalyst, which uses precious metals such as platinum (PT) and palladium (Pd) as the catalyst, which mainly reduces the SOF content in the particulate emission and thus reduces the emission of PM. At the same time, the HC in the exhaust can be effectively reduced. The CO. oxidation catalyst can remove 90% of the SOF, thereby reducing the PM emission by 40% to 50%. The processing efficiency of HC and CO can reach 65%-85%. Catalytic oxidation technology has good effect on removing soluble organic components (SOF) in diesel engine emission particles, that is, the catalytic converter is added in the diesel exhaust system, and the oxidation reaction of SOF is converted to CO2 and H2O under the action of platinum, rhodium and palladium and other noble metal catalysts or rare earth catalysts, and usually it is removed. The efficiency is up to 80%. At the same time, it can also remove harmful substances such as HC and CO in tail gas, and effectively reduce harmful substances into the atmosphere.
