Description of Tungsten-Filled Wireline Stems
Solving Traditional Sinker Bar Issues with Tungsten-Filled Wireline Stems
For gas wells, oil wells, water injection wells, and wells with high wellhead pressure or high fluid viscosity, it is necessary to use a specific weighted bar to facilitate the downhole instrument to enter the well for downhole testing. In the mining industry, mercury-weighted bars or lead-weighted bars are commonly used. The disadvantage of this setup is that the specific gravity of mercury or lead is not high enough. In wells with higher pressure or thicker oil, the weighted bar for downhole testing instruments must be very long. This requires more extended blowout preventer pipes and a higher derrick, increasing construction difficulty and safety risks. Another drawback is that the center of mercury or lead-weighted bars cannot accommodate the transmission cable for transmitting test signals, and it can only be placed below the test instrument. In this way, the test instrument with a 100-kilogram weighted bar hanging below it will be affected by the tension it receives, affecting its regular operation.
Using tungsten alloy bars can solve these problems. Using high-density tungsten alloy weighted bars increases the weight per unit length of the weighted bar, reducing the length of the weighted bar under the same weight. This can reduce the size of the blowout preventer required during construction and the height of the derrick, saving steel, facilitating construction, and improving safety. Additionally, an electrically conductive tungsten alloy weighted bar can be connected above the test instrument, allowing it to operate normally without being affected by the tension of the weighted bar.
Excellent Performance of Tungsten-Filled Wireline Stems
Tungsten alloy is an ideal material for manufacturing drilling equipment. The device must be heavy enough to enter heavy crystal mud and be hard enough to withstand water pressure in such harsh environments. Therefore, the mechanical properties of tungsten alloy play a crucial role in the operation of these significant components.
We provide high-performance tungsten alloy materials and finished parts for downhole drilling weighting in the petroleum industry, ensuring accuracy, durability, reliability, and wear resistance. We also provide various supports, from the research and development stage to the complete product application for directional drilling equipment in multiple challenging environments.
In oil, gas, geological exploration, geothermal geophysical drilling, and mining, our tungsten alloy weights are used in various logging casings and equipment to locate and quantify oil and gas regions.
