Description of Naringin

Naringin is a major flavanone glycoside in grapefruir or pomelo. It’s a white or yellowish powder with a strong bitter taste, even its concentration in aqueous solution is lower than 20mg/kg. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in hot water, ethanol, and acetone. Application As a bitter agent or flavor ingredient, naringin is widely used in gums, functional beverages, beers and dietary supplements.

Efficiancy

Naringin is an inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) release, which causes angiogenesis

-Naringin reduced diabetes-induced neuropathy in rats

-Naringin ameliorates memory deficits in ICV-STZ-induced experimental paradium of Alzheimer's disease through attenuating mitochondrial dysfunction

-Naringin has shown protective effects against cognitive dysfunction and oxidative damage in rats

because it has the bioflavonoids properties, such as anti-oxidant and water solubility with good clarity, it can be used in functional beverage and chewing gum

3)Dietary supplement and medical

studies have shown that naringin interferes with enzymatic activity in the intestines, and thus, with the breakdown of certain drugs, resulting in higher blood levels of the drug. A number of drugs that are known to be affected by the naringin in grapefruit include calcium channel blockers, estrogen, sedative, medications for high blood pressure, allergies, AIDs, and cholesterol-lowering drugs

3) Cosmetic

it can be used as whitening agent in cosmetic products
