Testing is introduced
The Uganda National Standards Authority (UNBS) has implemented a new product conformity assessment procedure to control the import quality of certain categories of consumer goods.
The new program, called The Pre-Export Compliance Certification Program (PVoC), was launched on June 9, 2010 but suspended in October 2010. It was then restarted on December 3, 2012, but the restart was further delayed to June 1, 2013.
The Uganda PVOC project has been fully implemented since 1 June 2013. All shipments containing controlled products shall have a certificate of conformity, as a certificate of conformity is a mandatory requirement for customs clearance at Uganda ports to demonstrate compliance with applicable Ugandan technical regulations and mandatory or approved standards.
Testing standard
1, rated voltage: 220V or 240V; Frequency: 50Hz;
2. English product instructions are required;
3, the plug charger needs to comply with BS1363-1, BS1363-2 or BS546 standards. Electrical wiring plugs must comply with the above standards.
4. Products are required to bear the origin label "Made In China".

Ug-pvoc certification process
Including the following key elements:
- Testing and evaluation in accredited laboratories;
Check the conformity of documents;
-- Audit the conformity of test reports and standards
- Inspection of goods before shipment;
There are three ways to obtain UG-PVOC certification:
Mode A: Inspection and testing of each consignment (for infrequent exports)
Mode B) : Product registration, inspection and limited testing (for frequently exported products)
Mode C) : Product approval (for products that are exported frequently and in large quantities)
Assessment method
To prove that the product meets all standards and technical requirements, the product must undergo one or more of the following evaluation methods:
